Happy New Year and welcome to the first 2020 issue of Coaching for Growth!
We hope you had a terrific holiday break and that you're off to a great start to 2020. This is the ideal time to reflect on what we learnt and achieved in 2019... and what we'd like to learn and achieve in 2020. We may wish to ask ourselves: what kind of leader do I wish to be now, to become in 5-10 years time? Am I ready to tackle the tidal wave of changes at work, at home and in my community? How do I keep growing and developing more positive relationships with my team, boss, partner, children, friends?
Paradoxically, the more we advance in the corporate world, the more challenging answering the above questions become. We're now entering the 4th Industrial Revolution, which means that we need significantly different and nuanced approaches to leadership development, as just published in my latest article: Developing Leaders for the 4th Industrial Revolution. You'll probably see it on Facebook too.
If you'd like some suggestions on how to create a better future for yourself and those around you, we have many useful articles and resources you can access here. And if you're looking for a book that tackles leadership development from a different angle (leadership with a twist?), check out Scientists in Every Boardroom. Some critics say the title is a bit misleading...but we'll let readers decide.
Finally, this may be a difficult time for some, as we deal with the bushfire catastrophe here in Australia. Coaching conversations can be profoundly helpful both personally and professionally - this is where we can be guided to make sense of complex topics. ProVeritas Group has made donations to the Australian Red Cross and the Salvation Army. We encourage our clients to help in whatever way possible.
Wishing you continued growth,
Ruby & Associates
